Higher Order SMART Notebook Lessons

Goals:

1. Become comfortable using the SMARTBoard's basic functions.

2. Discover and reproduce how to use 3 new tools appropriate to your classroom.

3. Implement 3 new strategies learned in this session into your teaching.

Tools you may have missed in the Notebook software

• Measuring Tool - allows you to measure straight line, angles, etc
• Transparency Background: Makes the Notebook disappear so you can write on the screen behind(like a browser)
• Shape Recognizer: a pen tool that can recognize the shape you are drawing and give it cleaner lines
• Polygon Tool - allows you to draw a polygon with many, many different number of sides
• Show Links - will make any embeded links flash for attention, so you know where to click
• Magic Pen - a new addition with several hidden functions
